How can I throw my voice at my ventriloquist puppet?
Ive been a magician for 7 years and have been doing research on ventriloquistism for 2 months so far. I also just got back from a Jeff Dunham show at a fair i live by. Any ways, I thought Id try ventriloquistism because its almost like magic to me. I have a lizard puppet whos name is Jerry and chose a deep, and dark voice for him. I also know the whole thing on pronounceing the hard to say letters like, p,w,m,v,ect. So all I need to know how to do in my practiceing is throwing my voice at the puppet. Can anyone help me out, and tips would also be helpful.
The ventriloquist speaks in a different voice and personality than his own. He does this without moving his lips or moving them very little.
He does not actually throw his voice just as a magician does not actually make something appear out of thin air.
You use misdirection. Which is the puppet in most cases.
Many of the greatest Ventriloquist of all time did move their lips quite a bit and even had the puppet point this out frequently.
