How to fix TV with static noise when news channel displays text/graphic at bottom of the screen.?
Brand new model Panasonic TV (model: PVDF2036M) makes loud static noise when the local news channel (through cable) has text/graphics on the bottom of the screen. (Not close captioning). When the station removes the graphic the noise goes away. TV is a combo dvd/vcr, but this is only when the TV is being used. Cable is without a box.
Does not always happen, though it seems more prevalent on a few local stations. Not CNN.
Sounds like your cable is overdriving the signal. The noise is caused by the video being sent at too high a level and dipping over into the audio signal. You might could try calling the cable company or putting a splitter on the line. That may or may not take care of the problem.
