Is there anyway to alter a tuxedo jacket with a center vent as to eliminate the very incorrect vent?

Traditionally a tuxedo dinner jacket(the black one specifically in this case) should not be vented. In modern times, a side vent is allowed, but in no case should a center vent be present. Does anybody know if it is possible to have this problem with my tuxedo jacket corrected(I have a Tommy Hilfigger with a center vented single button jacket with peak lapels).

Sewing up a center vent to make an unvented jacket is a simple alteration. Any tailor can do it.
